Functional Intracellular Analysis (FIA)
This test measures level of selected vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other essential micronutrients within your white blood cells (lymphocytes).Analysis of the function of these cells can reveal a person’s functional nutritional status over a long period of time. Functional status differs from a single serum level in that it reveals reserves of a nutrient and available levels for the previous 3-6 months. The results revealed can uncover nutritional deficiencies. If not corrected, such deficiencies could impair your health by contributing to the development or progression of chronic disease.
Why You Need a FIA
University research shows that 50% of people taking supplements remain deficient. These deficiencies can contribute to disease processes and keep you from performing your best. By identifying and correcting functional micronutrient deficiencies, you are taking an important step toward long-term maintenance of optimal health.
